
PROGRAMS
Parent Infant Program (ages 0-3)
Family centered and multidisciplinary
- Provides trilingual (English, Spanish, ASL) services
- Facilitates parent/child language development and communication
- Nurtures the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of the child
- Prepares parent and child to transition to an appropriate preschool program
Lower Level Program
- Provides separate oral/aural and total communication tracks in small class settings
- Develops a strong language base during critical learning times
- Plans for the child’s baseline functioning in all areas of development
- Provides individual and small group diagnostic instruction while learning through play
- Provides opportunities for ongoing communication between home and school
Upper Level Program
- Small class size with a teacher and teacher assistant in each classroom
- Offers flexible, collaborative and student centered programming
- Provides challenging academic subjects in line with NY State Learning Standards
- Includes physical education, art, computer and library media classes
- Uses a mediated learning approach to foster cognitive growth
Develops social skills and character that will help students become productive citizens of their community.
- Provides students with additional opportunities to showcase their talents, including an education fair, assemblies/shows, athletics and school store participation.
Special Needs Students
- Emphasizes the development of independent living skills
- Provides functional academic skills
- Fosters a sense of self-esteem and independence
- Provides communication and socialization opportunities with the school and neighborhood communities
